A blood test for men over 40 in the UAE

After 40, a lot of what matters to your health shows up in your blood years before you notice it. One home draw covers the numbers men in their 40s and 50s most often want to see.

    What you’ll learn
Why this is a good time to testWhat the screen checks, and when a consultation fits betterHow the home draw works, with results in 48 hours

    Why test now

Many men in their 40s only see a blood result when something goes wrong, or as part of a quick insurance check. By then a slowly rising HbA1c or LDL can have been creeping up for years.

Testing once a year from 40 gives you a line rather than a dot. A testosterone, PSA or blood sugar reading means far more when you can see last year's next to it.

    • Less energy or drive than a few years ago
    • Weight creeping on around the middle
    • Poorer sleep or slower recovery from training
    • A family history of heart disease, diabetes or prostate problems
    • You can't remember your last full blood test

    What the screen checks

Testosterone. Levels fall gradually with age, and can drop further with poor sleep, weight gain or stress.

PSA. A prostate reading on the male profile. It's a useful baseline to track, not a cancer test on its own.

Cholesterol and inflammation. A full lipid profile, HS-CRP and CPK, the readings most men in their 40s are asked about first.

Blood sugar. Fasting glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, which can show insulin resistance well before blood sugar itself goes high.

Liver and kidneys. Full liver tests including GGT, kidney function and electrolytes. Alcohol, some medicines and weight around the middle can all show up here.

    How to prepare

    • Book a morning draw, ideally before 10am, when testosterone is highest.
    • Fast overnight with water only.
    • Avoid hard training, cycling and sex for 48 hours beforehand, as they can raise PSA and CPK.
    • Skip alcohol the day before, and keep taking any regular medicine.

    The screen or a consultation

Book the screen if you want the numbers

The screen covers everything above in one draw at home or at the office, and a consultant explains what each value means for you.

Start with a consultation if you already know what you want to change

If your goal is clear, like body composition, energy or sleep, a consultation is the better first step. Your consultant will decide whether the screen comes first.

The consultation is AED 350, credited against your program if one is agreed within 30 days.

    How the home test works

Baseline’s full blood screen covers 122 parameters across ten systems from one home draw, for AED 850, with results in 48 hours.

    • Nurse comes to you. A licensed phlebotomist visits your home or office, 7 days a week, anywhere in the UAE.
    • Accredited lab. Samples are processed by a CAP-accredited laboratory (College of American Pathologists), also accredited to ISO 15189, against clinical reference ranges.
    • Reviewed with you. Results land in your account in Baseline format, and your consultant walks you through them on video, never a PDF dumped in your inbox.

    Questions

Does the screen include testosterone and PSA?
Yes. Both are on the male profile. Testosterone sits in the hormone profile and PSA in the cancer markers section.
How often should men over 40 have a blood test?
Once a year is a sensible routine. Retest sooner if something came back borderline or if you change your training, diet or medicine.
Can the nurse come to my office?
Yes. The draw can be at home or at work, 7 days a week, anywhere in the UAE.
What if my testosterone comes back low?
A single low reading is usually repeated before anything is concluded, because sleep, stress and illness can all lower it. Your consultant will explain the result and what to do next.

Reading is not a diagnosis. A consultation goes through your history with you and tells you plainly whether a program fits, including when it does not. AED 350, credited in full against your first order.
