    A health check before Ramadan

A month of fasting from dawn to sunset is easier when you know where you're starting from. One home draw a few weeks before Ramadan covers the readings most worth knowing.

    What you’ll learn
Why this is a good time to testWhat the screen checks, and when a consultation fits betterHow the home draw works, with results in 48 hours

    Why test now

Fasting changes when you eat, drink and sleep for a month. Most people do it without any problem, but it's worth knowing beforehand if your blood sugar, kidneys or iron need attention.

Testing a few weeks ahead leaves time to act on a result before the month starts. If you take regular medicine for blood sugar or blood pressure, the result is also useful to bring to whoever manages it.

    • You found last Ramadan harder than expected
    • You take regular medicine for blood sugar or blood pressure
    • You feel tired or light-headed on long days
    • You haven't had a blood test since last Ramadan

    What the screen checks

Blood sugar. Fasting glucose, HbA1c and insulin, so you know how your blood sugar has been running before the routine changes.

Kidneys and salts. Kidney function, sodium, potassium and a urine analysis. Long fasts in the heat mean less fluid, so these are worth checking first.

Iron, B12 and vitamin D. Iron stores, active B12, vitamin D and a full blood count. Low levels can make long fasting days feel harder.

Cholesterol and liver. A lipid profile and full liver tests, a useful baseline before a month of different eating patterns.

    How to prepare

    • Book four to six weeks before Ramadan, so there's time to recheck anything.
    • Fast overnight with water only and book a morning draw.
    • Drink normally the day before. Being short of fluid can skew kidney readings.
    • Keep taking any regular medicine and mention it at your review.

    The screen or a consultation

Book the screen if you want to go in knowing your numbers

The screen covers blood sugar, kidneys, salts, iron and vitamins in one home draw, with a consultant to explain the results.

Start with a consultation if you have questions about fasting and your goals

If you want a plan for weight, energy or sleep around Ramadan, start with a consultation. Your consultant will say whether the screen should come first.

The consultation is AED 350, credited against your program if one is agreed within 30 days.

    How the home test works

Baseline’s full blood screen covers 122 parameters across ten systems from one home draw, for AED 850, with results in 48 hours.

    • Nurse comes to you. A licensed phlebotomist visits your home or office, 7 days a week, anywhere in the UAE.
    • Accredited lab. Samples are processed by a CAP-accredited laboratory (College of American Pathologists), also accredited to ISO 15189, against clinical reference ranges.
    • Reviewed with you. Results land in your account in Baseline format, and your consultant walks you through them on video, never a PDF dumped in your inbox.

    Questions

When should I book a blood test before Ramadan?
Four to six weeks before is ideal. Results are back in 48 hours, which leaves time to recheck anything before the month starts.
Do I need to fast for the test?
Yes, overnight with water only, then a morning draw. That gives reliable blood sugar and insulin readings.
I take medicine for diabetes. Is the screen enough?
The screen shows how your blood sugar has been running, but it does not replace advice from whoever manages your medicine. Speak to them before fasting, and take your results with you.
How much is the pre-Ramadan blood test?
It is the full Baseline screen, AED 850. That covers the home draw, 122 parameters, the lab work and a video review with a consultant.

Reading is not a diagnosis. A consultation goes through your history with you and tells you plainly whether a program fits, including when it does not. AED 350, credited in full against your first order.
